First off, THANK YOU to everyone who commented to let me know you are getting value from these takeaways. I really appreciate getting the feedback :)
The third takeaway that I want to share with you from the “Traffic & Conversion” Marketing Conference is from the Day 3 keynote, delivered by Sally Hogshead, creator of the Fascination Personality Test.
(If you missed my Takeaway #1 about the opening keynote titled “It’s The End Of Marketing As We Know It” you can read that here or Takeaway #2 about the 5 steps to be seen as an authority you can read that here.)
Sally’s keynote was about FASCINATION and she began by sharing this paradigm shift:
The Old Way: How YOU see the world
The NEW Way: How the world sees YOU
This is relevant to you as a coach because it’s about what makes people want to work with YOU (vs. another coach).
Sally proposes that people want to be fascinated and that…
It’s good to be better.
But it’s better to be DIFFERENT.
In other words…
To become more successful, you don’t have to CHANGE who you are. You have to become MORE of who you are.

I agree with this 100% and it confirms what we teach in the Coach & Grow R.I.C.H. system…
Your most perfect ideal clients are naturally attracted to the REAL YOU.
The more you “let your freak flag fly” (aka: share your unique personality, experiences, beliefs, stories, etc.) the more your ideal clients will automatically be attracted to you.
Your Action Items from this takeaway:
#1 – On a scale of 1-10, how much do you “let your freak flag fly”?
#2 – If you didn’t give yourself a 10, how can you share more of who you really are in your marketing? What’s unique about you and differentiates you from other coaches in the same niche?
The fact is, you’ll never make the difference you’re here to make when you try to be everything to everyone…
…Because you’ll become no one to nobody.
Instead you want to selectively and strategically polarize, by bringing more of who you naturally are to everything you do in your business.
So what do you think? Are you willing to let your “freak flag fly”? Do you see how this is key for differentiating yourself from other coaches in your niche?
And are you finding these takeaways I’m sharing with you useful and would you like me to continue?
Comment below and let me know, rockstar!
“Thanks to you, your coaching and your program my business is doing great. I’m very specific and I’m very happy to have a unique niche: Mental Golf Coaching. My clients are junior golf talents and I coach around golf, school, family, friends and love, so that the junior talent can reach their goals much easier. Everything is in flow, thanks to you and Coach & Grow RICH!”
“Before I learned the Coach & Grow R.I.C.H. system I was unfocused. I felt like I was all over the map. I only had a few clients, no groups and no plan to increase my revenue expect to work harder.
“Before getting the Coach & Grow R.I.C.H. system I was not even coaching anyone but after I met Michelle at workshop in San Diego I decided to buy it and try it out. The program has a lot of great material that helped me wrap my head around what I was doing and get clearer on my goals. I’m really looking forward to going through the course again and use the material more since I’m really trying to launch my business this year. Michelle’s program helped me to take the first big step – starting my coaching business! I already developed my first website and had the confidence to do it. Now I’m working on starting a group. After going through the program I gained confidence that I can actually do this simply by seeing that so many other people at different levels are currently doing it as well. In the past I was getting stuck at times because I always want to do everything perfectly but now I know that it was holding me back! This is definitely my year!”
Great article and ‘Take-away’.
“The fact is, you’ll never make the difference you’re here to make when you try to be everything to everyone……Because you’ll become no one to nobody.”
Bang on! What I see in my practise everyday is how many coaches give this ‘lip service’. They want to show their uniqueness but then try and market to everybody! or at the least a massive group of people they could never reach anyways. I suggest their are two action steps from this take-away.
1. Your most perfect ideal clients are naturally attracted to the REAL YOU. So be authentic! Let the real you be seen and heard.
2. Trying to attract your ‘Ideal Clients’ by marketing to everyone is a long, arduous journey akin to finding a needle in a haystack. So, first figure out who your Ideal Client is. Then share the Real You with that group!
