As a coach, this is the season when we get to support clients in evaluating the past year and preparing for the next. I call this process…

“The Year In Review & A Plan For The New”

Do you do something like this with your clients?

Isn’t it so rewarding to help clients identify and acknowledge their successes, often reminding them of things they had forgotten?

To start of the Year in Review, some great questions to ask are:

  • What are your successes in the past year?
  • What are you proud of?
  • What brought you the most joy?
  • What brought you the best results?
  • What is your superpower?

Then, it’s also important during The Year in Review to identify “Lessons Learned” and areas that have “Room For Improvement.” (I find that some coaches skip or forget to do this part!)

Ask your client things like:

  • What didn’t go as well as you had hoped?
  • Where did you let yourself down or drop the ball?
  • What insights did you gain?
  • What do you wish you had done more of?
  • What do you wish you had done less of?
  • What will you do differently in the future?
  • What are your personal “Keys to Success”?
  • You can take clients through a process like this individually or with a group of clients at once.

I do this with my Mastermind Members as a 2-Day Virtual Retreat and it is so powerful!

As one them said…

“This was exceptionally valuable and helpful. I always intend to plan out my year but this was so much better. Having the time blocked out and you guiding us through the process with a set period of time to work on each section really helped me get so much done. Plus I loved hearing all the ideas and getting feedback from you and the others. Thank you!”
